JDFM Fishery Projects

Part of managing The Lawn and The Res Fishing. We have set out a plan to get the venues back to the once fantastic places they used to be. Our aim is to offer enjoyable fishing in the most beautiful setting in an urban surrounding.

Netting enables us to audit the stock, and is one of the most important steps in progress. This shows us species, sizes, health checks and predation. Then we can take action on the next steps. Safe havens for fish, new plants, margins and new fish stock if needed.

Auditing the Fish

The fish were painstakingly counted and checked before released

EA Team busy out in the boat

The EA team bring there own inflatable craft. This allows them to move around the pond quickly. They drag around the net hoping to catch as many fish as possible safely. The netting was successful and quite difficult on acold day.

Almost there

The netting is almost complete. It had taken quite a few hours to get to this position. Overcoming many snags the net was catching. The only way to free the net was to get in and manually free it and in freezing water

Tench anyone

One of the species caught was Tench. Not many in to be honest and possibly one of the species we would introduce. If you are a Bream angler there was absolutely loads from 3lb up 9lb

The Lump

No not co owner Daz. This beauty weighed in at 27.5lb . One of the largest we weighed on the day. We had over 20 odd carp weighed in from 15lb to 23lb. Lots of carp were not weighed under 15lb. Its a carp anglers dream
